Milton Harold Stokes of Chocowinity, NC passed away April 23, 2024 at PruittHealth Hospice, New Bern NC. He was born on March 6, 1948 to the late William (Bill) and Louise Moore Stokes. He was predeceased by his three sisters Mamie McCoy, Cecelia Price, Clarice Spruill and five brothers Earl Bowen, William Earl Woolard, Tyrone Stokes, Bernard Stokes, and Eric Stokes.
Milton attended P.S. Jones High School in Washington, North Carolina. He held many occupations which included truck driving, auto mechanic, automobile detailer and grocery store stocker.
Milton was a warm-hearted person with a jovial spirit. He enjoyed great food, the Philadelphia Eagles, fishing, and racing cars! Milton’s memory will be forever held in the hearts of his surviving family: his only daughter Traci C. Harrison and her husband, Eugene D. Harrison, Jr.; five grandsons Eugene III, William, Aaron, Joel (Melvisha) and Daniel Harrison; two great-granddaughters Abigail and Olivia; two sisters JoAnna Pippen and Pamela Crawford; and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives, and friends.
Milton’s ashes will be sprinkled on the Chesapeake Bay at his request.
Memorial Services will be Saturday April 27,2024 at 3:00pm at L. R. Memorial Chapel 208 W. Martin Luther King Jr. Dr. Washington, NC.
